The Toronto Blue Jays announced quite a few roster moves this morning involving Nick Sandlin and Jacob Barnes.
The Blue Jays have not had much luck when it comes to pitchers staying healthy so far this season as they still have Max Scherzer, Erik Swanson and Ryan Burr all still on IL.
Blue Jays announce roster moves involving pitchers Nick Sandlin and Jacob Barnes
The Blue Jays announced this morning that relief pitcher Nick Sandlin is headed to 15 day IL for a lat pull but have yet to discuss how serious the injury currently is which fans are hoping is not too serious.
#BlueJays with a batch of roster moves, including Nick Sandlin to the IL:
They also announced that relief pitcher Jacob
Barnes has been designated for assignment after a very rough start to the season but most were suprised when he made the team in the first place.
ROSTER MOVES:
RHP Dillon Tate recalled from Triple-A and will be active for today's game
RHP Paxton Schultz selected to the MLB roster and will be active for today's game
RHP Nick Sandlin placed on 15-day IL (right lat strain)
RHP Jacob Barnes DFA'd
This move regarding
Barnes comes as no surprise as he currently had a 9.00 ERA so far this season and with the many options the Blue Jays have when it comes to relief pitchers, they decided to DFA him.
On the other hand hopefully Sandlin is not out for too long as he has been on fire for the Blue Jays so far this season especially with Erik Swanson and Ryan Burr still being out.
