Blue Jays Addison Barger speaks on being in a tough position at the end of Spring Training
The Blue Jays are headed into the final stretch on Spring Training and have some tough decisions to make as even prospect Addison Barger is in a tough spot as he is battling for a bench spot.
Barger is currently battling one for the final bench spots for the Blue Jays with Leo Jimenez as he pretty much has no chance of being a starter unless the Blue Jays start dealing with a lot of injuries
Such a scenario could leave Barger and Leo Jimenez fighting for the final roster spot, with Barger's offence and ability to play the infield and outfield corners pitted against Jimenez's strong play at shortstop and on-base skills. -Davidi
Like several of the players in Monday's split-squad lineup that fell 4-2 to the Philadelphia Phillies, Barger is fighting for one of the Blue Jays' available bench spots. -Davidi
Barger made it clear during an interview that he knows the current position he is in and that he just needs to let his game do the talking if he wants to land one of those final spots.
«Just trying to stick to the plan, be consistent in my work and hope that's good enough,» Barger said of his outlook. «I'm going to be playing baseball in a week, either way. That's what I'm focused on.» -Barger
Many fans believe that Barger should end up getting one of the bench spots but at the same time many believe that Alan Roden should also be there which he likely will not.
