The Toronto Blue Jays newest addition in Andres Gimenez spoke to the media today for the first time regarding the trade with the Cleveland Guardians.
Last week the Blue Jays traded Spencer Horwitz and Nick Mitchell in exchange for second baseman Andres Gimenez and pitcher Nick Sandlin from the Cleveland Guardians.

Gimenez spoke to the media via interpreter for the first time today stating that he is excited to getting things going with the Blue Jays and stated that he already spoke with Bo Bichette, Vladimir Guerrero Jr and Ernie Clement.
Andrés Giménez (via interpreter) expressed his excitement to come to Toronto.
He heard from Vladdy right away along with Ernie Clement (who he knows from Cleveland) and Bo Bichette.

The Blue Jays new second baseman stated that he was happy to be trade to Toronto as it was always one of his favorite cities to play in as a visiting player and that he loves the city.

When speaking on his 2024 season, Gimenez stated that he is working hard on not chasing pitches outside the zone which caused his offensive struggles in 2024 and it looks like he is focusing on that this off-season.
