The Toronto Blue Jays are looking to bring in a new pitcher this off-season but it looks like a reunion with former pitcher Marcus Stroman will not be happening.

Toronto is looking to make some big moves this winter and one of the key areas they need help with is their pitching rotation in which they are looking to improve via a trade or signing.
Despite rumors that the Blue Jays might be interested in brining back pitcher Marcus Stroman as he enters the last year of his current deal at $18.3 million, it looks like that won't be happening.
Ross Atkins is the man who decided to trade Stroman to the New York Mets in 2019 at the trade deadline in which the Blue Jays acquired a few prospects but the trade seemed to have strained the relationship since Stroman wanted to stay in Toronto.
It's fair to say that Stroman is due for a bounce-back season. He was an All-Star in 2023 and his 2024 campaign was not all bad. There were moments of vintage Stroman sprinkled in. Under contract for $18.3 million next season with a club option for 2026, Stroman is a prime buy-low candidate for a contender looking to shore up its rotation. Unfortunately, Atkins already tainted that relationship with a trade, and he's probably not keen on spending the money necessary to bring Stroman back into the fold. -Kline

While it would be fun to see him back in Toronto, for the money he is making these days versus his numbers on the field, he is sadly not worth it anymore, especially when looking at how he played this season.
