Toronto Blue Jays get big extra-inning win vs. Baltimore Orioles - USA TODAY
Despite the flu bug affecting the entire team and with only 9 position players available, including the SP who is fighting off a fever, they still had to face the top dogs of the AL East (Orioles). Schneider had no intention of downplaying his excitement as they defeated Baltimore in extra innings.
"You don't want to say May 13 is a huge game, but this was a huge (expletive) win," says Schneider. "We had nine guys. We obviously had no moves to make. I couldn't be more proud of the guys that were out there tonight."
"I told them before the game, 'There's no secrets here, boys you're not getting hit for, you're not getting pinch-run for. Vogey, Kirkey, I hope you're feeling fast."
Kevin Kiermaier, George Springer and along with team captain Justin Turner, were all out with sickness. Catcher Danny Jansen experienced back spasms before the game as well.
It is nice to hear some positive comments despite the tough situation, the team finally pulled through and closed out a win.
