Former Toronto Blue Jays pitcher Yusei Kikuchi recently posted on social media a terrible story regarding Blue Jays fans harassing him during his first season with the team.
Kikuchi got to Toronto in 2022 after signing a three year deal with the team but struggled quite a bit in his first season which saw him even move to the bullpen for a portion of the year.
The former Blue Jays pitcher posted a story on social media regarding his first year in Toronto where he got off to a tough start and was scared to go leave the house with his wife and child.
Kikuchi stated that fans jeered at him and his family as they would go on walks it got to the point where he started to worry about his wife any time she left the house with their child.
Yusei Kikuchi wrote an interesting post about how he was jeered on the streets by fans in Toronto so bad he worried for his wife in his first year, then knew he'd finally made it when he got his own bobblehead (Google translated from Japanese)
Eventually things settled down as Kikuchi started to play better on the field and stated that he knew things were finally good when he got to bring his family out for a ceremonial first pitch on his bobblehead night.
This is a bad look for Blue Jays fans who are very passionate but need to clearly learn that these players are just human beings outside of the stadium and do not deserve to be harassed.
