According to reports, the New York Yankees met with free agent superstar Juan Soto in California yesterday and the meeting went terribly.
The Yankees were listed as the one of the top two teams to land Soto in free agency along with the Mets but after this meeting it looks like Soto's former team might have fallen down the rankings.
The Yankees meeting with Juan Soto ended up going terribly
MLB reporter Mark Gooden announced this morning that the meeting with the Yankees went terribly, Hal Steinbrenner could not get the Powerpoint to work and had to wing the whole meeting.
Juan Soto met with Yankee brass yesterday in California and by all accounts, it did not go well. Hal Steinbrenner couldn't get the PowerPoint presentation to work and had to wing it. Soto left the meeting unimpressed and underwhelmed.
Per @RealMichaelKay , Steve Cohen and the Mets are willing to go $50M over what any other team would offer for superstar outfielder Juan Soto.
Would you consider this an overpay if true? Or would you do anything it takes to bring Soto to Citi?
The Mets still seem to be all in on landing Soto and between how their meeting went last week and how much money they are willing to spend, it is tough to see how another team will surpass them.
