Toronto Blue Jays first baseman Vladimir Guerrero Jr received an incredible award from the Baseball Writers' Association of America as he was named Blue Jays player of the year.
Baseball Writers' Association of America named Vladimir Guerrero Jr the Blue Jays player of the year
Guerrero was named the Blue Jays player of the year for the 2024 season by the BBWAA which comes as no surprise since he was by far their best player during this disappointing season as he put up incredible numbers at the plate.

Some of the other award given to Blue Jays players were more of a surprise as pitcher Jose Berrios was named pitcher of the year for the Blue Jays which many would have though would have been either Kevin Gausman or Bowden Francis.
However, Francis was named comeback player of the year for his outstanding turn around in the second half of the season while Spencer Horwitz was named rookie of the year and Danny Jansen was named the winner of the John Cerutti award.
Jose Berrios was voted pitcher of the year, Bowden Francis claimed most improved honours, Spencer Horwitz was chosen rookie of the year and Danny Jansen won the John Cerutti Award, which goes to someone associated with the day-to-day workings of Blue Jays baseball who displays the goodwill, co-operation and character exemplified by the late lefty. -Davidi
While every player named had a solid season in 2024, the Blue Jays will need to see a lot more from the rest of the team in 2025 if they want to get back into the playoffs.
Hopefully Guerrero, Berrios and Horwitz will have even better seasons next year as the rest of the team raises their game as well and fans will get to see some October baseball once again.
