The Toronto Blue Jays have had a busy start to the season when it comes to roster moves and the most recent one involved releasing pitcher Zach Pop last night.

The Blue Jays ended up releasing Ryan Yarbrough back into free agency before the start of the season instead of adding him to their 26 man roster which led him to signing a deal with the New York Yankees.

The Blue Jays have released relief pitcher Zach Pop

On March 27th, the Blue Jays announced a series of moves including DFA'ing pitcher Zach Pop, Tommy Nance and Nick Robertson with a series of other roster moves.
ROSTER MOVES:

RHP Jacob Barnes and OFs Alan Roden and Myles Straw selected to the MLB roster

RHPs Ryan Burr and Erik Swanson placed on the 15-day IL

OF Daulton Varsho placed on the 10-day IL

RHPs Tommy Nance, Zach Pop and Nick Robertson DFA'd
The Blue Jays announced late last night that Pop cleared waivers which is when they decided to release him from his contract making him a free agent once again.
Report: Blue Jays release Zach Pop after clearing waivers
The Toronto Blue Jays released RHP Zach Pop.
This move comes as no surprise since most fans were shocked to still see him on the team to start the season since he was a massive liability for their bullpen last season.
Pop in 2024 finished with a brutal 5.59 ERA in 48.1 innings pitched while only striking out 33 batters and giving up a total on 30 earned runs in that time.
The chances of Pop being able to land a new contract with the injury issues he has had to start the season are very slim.
