Report: Blue Jays release Zach Pop after clearing waivers
The Toronto Blue Jays released RHP Zach Pop.
This move comes as no surprise since most fans were shocked to still see him on the team to start the season since he was a massive liability for their bullpen last season.
Pop in 2024 finished with a brutal 5.59 ERA in 48.1 innings pitched while only striking out 33 batters and giving up a total on 30 earned runs in that time.
The chances of Pop being able to land a new contract with the injury issues he has had to start the season are very slim.
