The Toronto Blue Jays agree to terms with Vladimir Guerrero Jr

The Toronto Blue Jays were expected to head into arbitration with Vladimir Guerrero Jr but ended up settling on a salary for 2025 just after the deadline.
The MLB arbitration deadline was set for 1PM this afternoon and most expected Guerrero to be heading into arbitration after the deadline passed and no news was announced but it looks like the deadline is loose according to Ben Nicholson-Smith.
So, the 1pm ET deadline for avoiding arbitration has passed but there's still no news of Vlad Guerrero Jr. or dozens of others around MLB.
Why? Per ppl involved, the 1pm deadline is a soft deadline, sort of like when a soccer game ends & there's a bit of extra time on the clock.

The Blue Jays settled with Vladimir Guerrero Jr and avoid arbitration
News broke late this evening that the Blue Jays were able to settle on a salary for Guerrero despite reports coming out that they were headed to arbitration but a late report stated that they have settled for $28.5 million for 2025.

This is huge for the Blue Jays as they continue to negotiate on his contract extension, avoiding arbitration will hopefully help fix a bit of their relationship with Guerrero.
If the Blue Jays were to pay Guerrero $28.5 million for the next 15 season it would be a contract of around $430 million which is much closer to the number he is looking for in his next contract.
Hopefully Ross Atkins uses this 2025 salary to base a second offer for Guerrero off of and the two parties can finally get a deal done.
