After the win yesterday, the media asked
Straw what he thought of Hoffman blowing a kiss towards the Orioles in which he said that if he continues to pitch the way he has been, he can do whatever he wants.
«He's been nails,» Straw said. «A dog out there. I did not see (the kiss), but whatever he wants to do he can do it. As long as he keeps pitching like that he can do whatever he wants.» -Straw
Straw also went into how proud he was of his team for battling as they were down and ended up rallying for a solid comeback win over the Orioles to tie the series at one game a piece.
«It was a big win,» Straw said afterwards. «We definitely did not play our best game (but) it's good to fight back.»
«We could have shut down. But we knew we had to fight.» -Straw
Even Blue Jays manager John Schneider had some praises for Hoffman stating that he is built for this tough situations and seems to always deliver when the spotlight is on him.
«He really likes these moments,» added manager John Schneider. «He was probably looking forward to this series a little bit after the off-season he had and rightfully so. He stepped up a little bit and his stuff was in a little bit of a different gear there.» -Schneider
While fans were sad to see Jordan Romano go this off-season, Hoffman has been the best replacement they could ask for as he is arguably the best closer in baseball right now.
