The Toronto Blue Jays seem to be further away than ever with Vladimir Guerrero Jr in terms of getting a deal done which is why it is starting to look like they will trade him.

This morning the media wanted to speak to Guerrero regarding the leak that the Blue Jays offered him a $500 million contract before Spring Training which he rejected but Guerrero declined to speak to the press.

The Blue Jays might have no choice but to trade Vladimir Guerrero Jr at this point

News broke a couple days ago that the Blue Jays offered Guerrero a contract worth $500 million which included some significant deferrals which the Blue Jays superstar was apparently not too pleased with.
In a recent report by Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic, it was revealed just how far apart the Blue Jays and Guerrero Jr. are. The Blue Jays last offer was reportedly close to $500 million, which included some significant deferrals Guerrero Jr. wasn't thrilled about. -Powell

Depending on how someone looks at the situation either Guerrero can seem like the bad guy since he has stated he wants to stay in Toronto but was not willing to budge $50 million off of his asking price.
On the other hand, the Blue Jays can also look like they are being cheap since $50 million over 14 years is only $3.57 million per season which does not seem that much when talking about a $500 million contract.

If neither side was willing to move of their price, it seems clear at this point that a deal will most likely not get done which is why many have been stating that the Blue Jays will try to trade him soon because it would benefit both parties.
Guerrero Jr. wants to play for a team which values him as much or more than Juan Soto, as unrealistic as that may be. The Blue Jays do not feel the same way.

If the Blue Jays are serious about trading Guerrero, the quicker they do it, the bigger return they will get since they will not get much if they wait until the trade deadline.
